About Us:

Hoppers Crossing Junior Basketball Club was established in 1980 and is one of the longest standing clubs in the Wyndham area. We are a non-for-profit club, run by volunteers who are all committed to our players' continued development and growth, both on and off the basketball court.

We pride ourselves as being more than just a basketball club. We are a community united by a passion for basketball.

As a club we value inclusivity, providing support to players from all backgrounds, ages and abilities. We work closely with players and their families, supported by our coaches, team managers and committee members.

Our proud Alumni include players currently playing at representative level, state level and international level. We currently have several players on scholarships in the USA.

Mission Statement

At Hoppers Crossing Junior Basketball Club, our mission is to provide every player the chance to learn the fundamental skills of basketball, along with valuable life lessons. Most importantly, we aim towards fostering their enjoyment and passion for the game.

Vision:

We strive to be an inclusive club with a positive culture. Fostering a passion for basketball, we provide a welcoming environment supporting player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, personal growth, and a positive mindset. We empower our players to reach their full potential across all levels of basketball by setting them up for success to reach their personal goals.

Our Values:

We are passionate about ensuring all our players fulfil their potential through a great experience. Our club values include:

Teamwork: We promote collaboration among players and coaches, with an emphasis on respectful communication. We celebrate not only our own successes but also those of our teammates and peers.

Inclusive: We embrace diversity and promote inclusivity, ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or ability, feels welcome and valued within our club. We embrace players and their families equally.

Growth: We encourage continuous improvement, providing opportunities for learning and personal development for all players, coaches and members.

Engagement: We acknowledge that basketball is a family commitment. We encourage active participation from all our families, promoting a culture of enthusiasm, transparency and involvement.

Respect: We treat everyone with dignity and respect. We honour the contributions from everyone and foster genuine connections while creating a supportive community. This extends to volunteers on game days such as referees, coaches and parents, as well as other clubs and partners, which allows us the opportunity to train and play each week.

Support: A support system consisting of trust, sincerity and encouragement from family, friends, coaches and teammates plays a crucial role in a player's success. HCJBC has a strong support system consisting of volunteers in the committee and the wider community we are linked in with.
